ATI 8.42.3 driver on newer Fedora x86-64 kernelsWed 14 November 2007
I think this file is in Livna now but this way worked for me:
The 8.42.3 ATI driver builds fine on a stock Fedora 7 kernel. If you've upgraded the kernel it won't build. To get it installed, first download it and go through
the install. It won't work at all. Get these four files: https://www.inullable.com/svn/overlay/x11-drivers/ati-drivers/files/ go nto /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod and apply the patches. run sh make.sh. go up one directory and run sh make_install.sh .
Then run aticonfig --initial --overlay-type=Xv edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and erase the VESA driver and non-ati screens.
Then it should work. It did for me on 2.6.23.
